We are pleased to report strong project growth across a number of industries this quarter, in particular Mining, Defence, Automotive, Food and Manufacturing. With several exciting LEAN manufacturing projects underway, optimism regarding the future for SA continues to grow. Projects include the design of several manufacturing facilities which have passed feasibility stage and are currently waiting on management approvals to proceed with implementation. Stay tuned – we anticipate releasing more details in our next issue.
With a major emphasis on these projects providing improved Productivity, Quality and WHS, this has been delivered through the installation of our Air Handling Equipment (Dust / Fume Extraction systems, Clean Rooms to ISO Standard) and Plant Equipment installations (robot cells).

INSIGHTS – FUTURE PROJECTS AT CARRAPATEENA
An Austmine Smart Mining Event held in Adelaide this month included a presentation from Katie Hulmes, General Manager Transformation & Readiness at Oz Minerals. Providing insights into their future projects at Carrapateena and Prominent Hill, it was evident again that a general upturn in the industry is underway. MECHVAC was recently involved in the manufacture and supply of ventilation ductwork to improve operator WHS at the Prominent Hill underground mine

GMUSG Conference and Trade Expo 2018
In August, we attended the 14th GMUSG Conference and Trade Expo 2018 in Port Augusta with a focus on Mining, Defence and Renewable Energy projects in SA. Feedback from METS suppliers and presentation speakers confirmed strong growth and a promising upturn in the Mining and Resources Industry.
